Guth & Guth P.A. was founded in 1959 by Richard J. Guth and the late Morton Guth (deceased in 1982). Richard J. Guth served as an Assistant Baltimore City State Attorney from 1970-1975 where he headed the Felony Complaint Division. Since leaving that position, he has devoted himself exclusively to the private practice of law.

Richard J. Guth's son, Louis K. Guth joined the firm in 1994 after having served as an attorney in the Baltimore City Public Defender's Office from 1992-1994, working in the District Court as well as the Circuit Court in the Felony Drug Defense Division, receiving extensive trial and courtroom experience relating to criminal matters.
